The Just Desserts
Whether you like the heat and longing of an Argentinian tango, the care-free strains of an American swing tune, the romance of French and Italian bistro music, the trance of a Persian melody, or any other international folk music, Just Desserts offers something to please or tease your tastes. Having gathered songs from all over the globe, The Just Desserts artfully infuse each leaf with the memory of the tree that it fell from. Whether it be a re-interpretation of a classic Argentinian milonga, a Serbian tune put to a swing beat, an American jazz tune turned tango, or a traditional Catalan song given an African rhythm via New Orleans, the essence is the same: go deeper, and find the source. In the Telluride kids area, the Just Desserts will be presenting their program “Around the World in 1000 songs,” an interactive, fun musical journey around the world.
