- What are the festival hours?
- The festival runs daily from 10am to around 10pm.
- Can I bring my dog?
- NO NO NO NO DOGS allowed on the Festival grounds, in the parking areas or in any of the camping areas. Please be a humane and responsible pet owner and make arrangements to leave your dogs at home or in a kennel, thanks! Here is a list of some local kennels:

- Where can I camp?
- We have three camping areas available up to a mile from the festival. Camping passes are sold per person, not per site. We have permanent restrooms on-site with real showers and real toilets! We also have the lovely Meadow Park campground available only about 2 blocks away and the Olson camping area about 3/4 mile from the festival. All camping is first-come first-serve. On-site camping opens at 6pm Thursday, Meadow Park opens at 9am on Monday. Olson opens at 9am Thursday. All camping areas close at noon on Monday.
- Where can I park?
- If you are coming to the Festival and not camping, you must park in the designated parking lot at Bohn Park (for a small fee). There will be plenty of signs to direct you. If you are camping and would like your vehicle with you, make sure you have purchased a vehicle pass. Every vehicle on-site must have a vehicle pass. A vehicle is considered anything requiring a license plate. This pass is separate from your camping pass. The parking area and campgrounds are serviced by a free shuttle bus to the festival. We encourage you to walk or bring your bike!
- Is there handicap parking?
- Handicap parking is available on-site with an authorized handicap parking sticker.
- Where is the closest airport?
- The closest airport is DIA, Denver International Airport. It is about 1 hour from Lyons. General Information: 303-342-2000 www.flydenver.com
- What is the weather like in Lyons?
- Please come prepared for any weather conditions. This includes: intense sun, heat, rain & wind. The show goes on rain or shine! At an altitude of close to 6,000 feet the weather can change quickly, it can get chilly at night even if the temperature is in the 90s during the day. SUNSCREEN IS A MUST! Please remember to DRINK LOTS OF WATER and WATCH YOUR ALCOHOL consumption, especially if you’re coming from lower elevations.
- What can I bring into the festival?
- ALCOHOL, GLASS and VIDEO CAMERAS are not allowed on the Festival grounds. You’re welcome to bring in food and soft drinks in appropriate containers. We serve beer at the Festival, (don’t forget your ID!) and we have a wide assortment of vendors with reasonably priced YUMMY FOOD, cool crafts, clothes and other great stuff.

- Can I tape the festival?
- AUDIO TAPING the music at the festival is permitted, unless the performing artist requests otherwise. Recording devices must be self-contained (we do not provide AC outlets or patches from the sound board) and you may not obstruct the view of your fellow festivarians with your equipment. There is no designated area for taping.
- What is the seating like?
- Seating is all general admission lawn seating so bring a tarp or chair. Please use only low-back lawn chairs so folks behind you can see. Dancing is welcome in the designated dance areas. One tarp can be used to reserve space on the grass. For safety and courtesy considerations, you may not sit in the pedestrian walkways. Small tents and lawn chairs are welcome in the rear of the festival grounds. You (and your gear!!) will need to clear out of the Festival grounds each day.
- How much is admission for children?
- CHILDREN 12 and under are FREE for the festival and camping, but must be accompanied by a paying adult. Check out the family tent daily for fun family activities! Please accompany your children at all times.
- Are there facilities at the campgrounds?
- Campround are equipped with portapottes and fresh water. There are no hookups at any of the campgrounds. Showers and real flush toilets are available on-site at our bath house.
- Are campfires allowed in the campgrounds?
- No, no campfires are allowed in the campgrounds.
- Can I rent inner tubes for tubing in the river?
- Inner tubes can be purchased for a small fee at the local tire store.

- Directions to Lyons From DIA:
- Please keep in mind that this area is continually under construction & these directions may vary slightly this summer. Bear right leaving the airport onto Pena Boulevard. Take E-470 N- Exit 6B (this is a toll road, currently $1.50). Take the exit for 120th Avenue. Travel West on 120th. Cross Hwy 76, and take a right onto SR 2 (AKA SR 51) next to large truck stop. Take SR 2 into Brighton toward Lafayette. Take a right on HWY 25 N. Take HWY 25 to the HWY 66 exit (about 24 miles, sign for LYONS) and take a left onto HWY 66. Proceed on HWY 66 through Longmont into Lyons (approximately 20 miles). Once you are in Lyons, drive through town, through light and bear right onto HWY 36 towards Estes Park. The Planet Bluegrass Ranch is just over the river and on the right- you can’t miss it! Look for our sign.
- What can I buy in Lyons?
- Lyons is a small town where you can get the basics. Within a mile or less from the Ranch gate, you can get to the post office, a music store, a health food store, a quaint little grocery, a pharmacy, an old-timey cafe, 1/2 dozen restaurants, and a coffee shop. Within a two-mile radius you can find a dozen restaurants, several gas stations, two banks, liquor and grocery stores and several antique dealers.
- Are there phones available? Will my cell phone work?
- We do not have any public phone on site at the Ranch. Cell phone coverage at the ranch can be problematic. Generally, the Verizon network works the best here in Lyons. Service improves once you are a mile or so away or closer to Boulder and Longmont.
- How do I get to Planet Bluegrass?
- If you are planning to fly into Denver International Airport, you have several options to get from Denver to Lyons. The Denver metro bus system, RTD, stops about 1/2 mile from the PB Ranch gate. Another private service, the Estes Park Shuttle, makes four daily runs from DIA to Estes Park, dropping you off at the PB Ranch on the way. The North Denver Airport Shuttle and Superior Shuttle both serve Lyons. For more details, contact these services directly:
