Volunteering for the 2007 RockyGrass Festival

RockyGrass customs gate

We are now accepting volunteer applications for 2007. Please read through the following details and complete the online application.

Despite a hardworking full-time staff, Planet Bluegrass events would never be possible without the help and hard work of our volunteers. As a volunteer, you will be greeting and dealing with the public, a task which requires many warm smiles and kind words (does this fit your personality?) In general, you will make sure each festivarian has on the proper wristband, check backpacks for items not allowed and/or direct vehicles where to park.

Remember, volunteers represent Planet Bluegrass to thousands of festivarians. If the thought of remaining sober during your shifts bums you out, volunteering is not for you. If greeting and helping festivarians does seem like something you want to do, then volunteering is for you. We want friendly, fun loving planetarians only, thank you!

2007 Volunteering Specifics

Please read the following carefully. Thanks for your attention and cooperation.

You will be assigned three, 3.5-hour shifts, consisting of a morning, afternoon, and night, in exchange for a 3-day pass.

The following must be included with your application to be considered for a volunteer:

  1. Complete the online volunteer application.
  2. Provide two separate payments to Planet Bluegrass. These may be paid using a credit card (specified in the secure online volunteer application) or by mailing us two personal checks.
    a. The first in the amount of $130.00, which acts as a deposit against the completion of your shifts. This payment will not be deposited if your commitment is completely and satisfactorily fulfilled. In this case we will shred your check or discard your credit card number. If not, your check/credit card payment will be deposited!
    b. The second in the amount of $12.00, which is a nonrefundable processing fee and will be cashed if you are accepted as a volunteer.
  3. If you have already purchased a 3-day pass or a 3-day pass with On-Site Camping:
    a. Your ticket will act as a deposit against the completion of your shifts. If you complete your shifts satisfactorily we will refund you appropriately (by check or credit card).
    b. If you purchased a 3-day pass with On-Site Camping, we will only refund the 3-day pass portion of the ticket. You will be required to turn in your ticket at the festival when you check in, in order to receive your volunteer wristband.
  4. If you are paying by check, you must send your 2 checks to the following address. Application will be processed when payment is received. Send checks to:
  5. Planet Bluegrass
    attn. Volunteers
    PO Box 769
    Lyons, CO 80540.

  6. All positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. An email will be sent upon acceptance as a volunteer.  You will also receive your schedule via email at a later date.
